Cold Night, Hot Lacrosse Action. January 30th 2026. On a chilly cold winter night, The Texas Men's Lacrosse team began their 2026 Spring season with a Scrimmage vs the Div. 3 Level Southwestern Pirates from Georgetown, TX. It was an abundant crowd, that was well-bundled up and coated for a cold evening. Those of us fans whom did show up in person, were gifted an intense match of legit dual-team effort, timely coach strategized time-outs and impressive lacrosse gameplay action. The game in general was refereed fairly, as both teams were able to play aggressively and yellow flag penalties were only thrown when warranted. Some basic insights I gathered from Southwestern parents and alumni in the crowd. Southwestern is a small 1,200+/- person Methodist religion based, liberal arts college, with yearly tuition at an astronomical $60,000 per year.
