April 9th, 2026. written by TX Alumni Reporter George Vance McGee georgevance@gmail.com Rain Delays Can’t Slow Down Texas Longhorn Lacrosse Spotty rain showers in Austin delayed the game’s projected 7:00 PM Central start time, but eventually the clouds relaxed and the sky opened up, giving way to a pleasantly cool night for Texas lacrosse at Caven Field. From the opening whistle, you could feel the feisty energy and exuberance from both teams. It had all the makings of a hard-hitting, competitive rivalry game—and for most of the night, it delivered. In the first quarter, the wet field created challenges for both sides. The slick conditions caused the ball to take odd bounces, making it difficult to control possession.
