All one really needs to know about this shellacking of a Win vs the Baylor Bears in Waco Texas is: while already up a very very quick 5-0 in the first quarter, the 6th goal for Texas was a "highlight ohhh & ah" behind the back shot goal, right on cage, right past the unsuspecting goalie. It was impressive, it was beautiful!
At this point most folks in the crowd knew Texas Lacrosse was going to win, but the only lingering question would be, by how many goals? Would they get to 30 or 40 goals? It was 10-1 Texas, at the end of the 1st quarter.
#26 for Texas, attackman had an excellent game. I vividly watched him perform an excellent assist back-up top to a trailing wide open middie, and then on the next play, #26 scored a goal on his own accord, via crease trash pick scoop & score.
Per the Baylor Undergrad students we were sitting with, when asked about Baylor's team, "We're a very injured team right now. The current goalie is a 3rd stringer, whom is actually a defensemen by trade. Yet even at full strength, y'all would beat us. Baylor is just not good at lacrosse."
Throughout the game, The Texas Longhorns were just excellent. Strong speedy shooting, winning ground balls, and just a different level of superior gameplay and speed vs the overmatched Baylor Bears.
Not exactly a glamourous, "away game." The Baylor intramural fields literally smelled like garbage, mixed with sewer, mixed with waste. The closest restroom was a good 7 minute walk away from the game-field. It was a night-game and the lighting was just bright enough to see the whole action. On a positive note, it was a pretty well attended, fun and easy going crowd of fans for both teams.
Everything from the 2nd quarter onwards to the end of the game, was just an inevitable cruise control Win for the Texas Longhorns. I'd assume most every able-bodied and burnt orange dressed Texas lacrosse player probably got some playing time, this game. Which is a welcomed occurrence.
Baylor Lacrosse in 2026 = Bad. The small City of Waco, Texas in 2026 = improving for sure! Ample new modern Hotels, Brand New Downtown Commercial Buildings, stores, rooftop bars, restaurants, & eateries. No car traffic within the city of Waco, none.
Waco's economic engines appear to be tourism due to affluent Baylor Bear Parents, along with the tourists whom still flock to the Magnolia Silos block of Domesticated bliss.

Thank you for the report. For some reason, none of the Baylor-provided photos show Longhorn goals, nor Bear disappointment. Hook Em!
ReplyDeleteTexas Stomped Them. I genuinely think there are some Texas High School Varsity Level Teams in that could compete & win vs. Baylor Bear Lacrosse, the Bears don't have it in 2026.
