The TCU game Texas was winning 9-6 late in the 3rd quarter but was cancelled due to lightning weather. Per official season records, "this game won't exist."

Per Our Texas Alumni & the honorable Mr. Tim Herfel on the TCU cancelled game due to lightning, rain and bad weather,
A cancelled game is removed from the schedule as if it were never there ... There is also no obligation or requirement to reschedule...it is treated like a bye...no record --TH."

So I was personally informed the Texas vs. TCU Frogs Men's Home Lacrosse game had been MOVED to Sunday Feb. 15th at 1 pm due to weather. (It should have been) To my surprise I noticed while just casually scrolling Facebook, the official Texas Men's Lacrosse team Facebook page stated Saturday 1pm was still Gameday and Game-on vs. TCU. This was news to me? Next I stepped outside my own front door in South Austin and it was indeed a rainy, musty, lightning and rough-weather day in Austin, Texas on February 14th, 2026. I then scrambled to the Texas Home Lacrosse website to watch the game via Streaming Service on my Ipad. I did watch and catch a smattering of the action via online streaming video. The Streaming reception was also a little spotty in its functionality on this bad weather day.

At Halftime The Score was Texas 6, TCU 4. From my streaming ipad viewpoint, you could manually count the sparsely attended home fans @ Caven Field with your eyes. I'd guestimate there were around 35 or so diehard fans there physically in person, with raincoats on. I don't blame folks for skipping out on the game. It was far from an ideal sunny picturesque Saturday Spring ATX afternoon situation. It was the exact opposite.

With roughly 6:32 +/-  remaining in the 3rd quarter with Texas Men's Lacrosse Winning Vs. TCU by a score of 9-6 and with the ball......the REC Center and Caven Field sirens began to blast their horns! The Texas players were upset as they knew another "30 minute required lightning watch weather delay and pause was immediate." All players, fans, coaches and humans were asked by Rec Sports and Caven Field operators to seek overhead cover and to physically remove themselves from the stands and Caven Field. After ample time waiting, the Online TV Streaming announcer said, "The game has been cancelled." Then the streaming service went off about 1-2 minutes later.

A Strange Weather and Home Field Operation on Valentine's Day 2026.

Texas Longhorns Lacrosse fans can take comfort and solace in the Fact, The Horns were winning 9-6 when the game was ended and cancelled. --GVM

Victory Slips Away at Home as Texas Horns Lose to Boston College 14-13 in Double Overtime

Victory Slips Away at Home as Texas Falls to Boston College, 14–13 in Double Overtime George Vance McGee, Alumni Reporter – In-Person Viewer georgevance@gmail.com February 13, 2026 There’s nothing like a Friday night at Caven Field, and as a proud Texas Lacrosse alumni, I was happy to be there in person, on a balmy early spring ATX weather night. Unfortunately, this game ended in heartbreak as our Horns lost to the visiting Boston College Eagles Club Team in double overtime, 14–13. Yes = Double Overtimes. A Sluggish Start — On and Off the Field The Horns started a little sluggish, but once they found their rhythm, they really got going. The scoreboard, however, never quite did. After three or four attempts to revive the malfunctioning Caven Field scoreboard, it officially got fired. From that point on, the on-field referees were responsible for keeping time, score, and order. A rare home-field bummer for the Texas Longhorn atmosphere — but the crowd stayed engaged and present. The Scrimmage that Felt & Lived like a Game. Texas Longhorns emerge Victorious 10-8 over the Div. 3 Southwestern Pirates

Cold Night, Hot Lacrosse Action.  January 30th 2026. On a chilly cold winter night, The Texas Men's Lacrosse team began their 2026 Spring season with a Scrimmage vs the Div. 3 Level Southwestern Pirates from Georgetown, TX. It was an abundant crowd, that was well-bundled up and coated for a cold evening. Those of us fans whom did show up in person, were gifted an intense match of legit dual-team effort, timely coach strategized time-outs and impressive lacrosse gameplay action.   The game in general was refereed fairly, as both teams were able to play aggressively and yellow flag penalties were only thrown when warranted. Some basic insights I gathered from Southwestern parents and alumni in the crowd. Southwestern is a small 1,200+/- person Methodist religion based, liberal arts college, with yearly tuition at an astronomical $60,000 per year. A Southwestern parent with a son playing on the Division 3 Level team informed me their active players usually get roughly ...

A Bonanza of Central Texas Youth Lacrosse; the Texas Longhorns Hosted Weekend Tournament. Dec. 6th & 7th, 2025

--Written By Alumni Texas Lacrosse Reporter; George Vance McGee (Austin Silent Market Real Estate Broker Associate 512.657.9281 georgevance@gmail.com)   After I acquired a legal & rare parking spot in the North Loop neighborhood in the morning, I took an easy stroll over to EPOCH for a smooth and calm morning drip coffee awakening. Post caffeination, it was now time for my Texas Longhorn Lax Shootout baptismal experience. Surprisingly, this was my 1st ever in-person Longhorn Youth Tournament Weekend Experience. Simply put; There's a lot going on! The Texas Intramural Fields circa 51 & Guadalupe street are looking pristine, upgraded, green, well-kept and ready for action. I witnessed a festival of lacrosse! Every field in sight my eyes could advance and venture to was brimming with Active Youth or High Lacrosse players, coaches, parents, volunteers, friends or family. I'd guesstimate there's roughly 2 thousand + physical humans in attendance at all times on site. Sat...
